The Government of India has started a project worth about US$ 15 billion to build three plants for the production of semiconductor integrated circuits. This was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an online ceremony on the occasion of the start of construction of new plants. In his speech, Prime Minister Modi announced plans to accelerate the production of Indian-made semiconductors and promised that India would become a world leader in this high-tech sector in the near future.
